Travel eSIM

Ubigi travel eSIM

A reusable travel eSIM for data in 200+ destinations — install once, top up when you fly.

Checked September 2026.

About Ubigi

Ubigi is a travel eSIM from Transatel. It is not a UK home network. You keep your EE, O2, Vodafone or Three number for calls and WhatsApp, and add Ubigi as a second line for data when you leave the UK.

The profile is reusable. Buy a France pack this summer and a Japan pack next year on the same eSIM. Plans are data-only — use WhatsApp or iMessage for calls unless you add a local number elsewhere.

Frome Fonez sends you to Ubigi’s official shop for today’s country prices. We do not cache a stale GB-per-pound table.

Coverage abroad: Local partner networks in each country — not one UK host

Typical plan types: Country, regional and global data packs on a reusable eSIM

UK use: Useful as a visitor eSIM in Britain, not as your everyday Frome number

Speed and 5G depend on the local partner. Open Ubigi before you fly.

Pros

  • One eSIM you can refill instead of a new QR code every trip
  • Country, regional and global packs
  • Works alongside a UK dual-SIM or eSIM phone
  • Useful if you already know the brand from a car or laptop

Watch-outs

  • Not a replacement for a UK phone number
  • You still need an unlocked, eSIM-capable handset
  • Fair-use and speed vary by destination — read the pack

Consider Ubigi if…

You fly a few times a year and want one travel profile to keep.

Maybe skip if…

You only ever roam on your home UK plan and never want a second line.

Questions about Ubigi

Travel data, not a UK home SIM. Checked September 2026.

Is Ubigi a UK network?

No. It is a travel eSIM. For everyday Frome coverage use EE, O2, Vodafone, Three or an MVNO.

Do I keep my UK number?

Yes, if your phone is dual-SIM. Leave the UK SIM on for calls and iMessage; use Ubigi for data abroad.

Can visitors use Ubigi in the UK?

Yes — Ubigi sells UK data packs. That is for visitors, not a substitute for a BA11 home SIM.
